Jan 26, 2010 - Hard Mixed Routes Come to Southern Ontario…Finally

Southern Ontario has never been associated with difficult mixed climbing, but that’s all about to change largely due to the efforts of St Catharines local Nate Kutcher. Originally from Minnesota, Kutcher only took up ice climbing after moving to the relatively warmer climate of Southern Ontario, where he discovered that the mild winters and occasionally chossy limestone created perfect conditions for difficult new-wave mixed lines. His list of difficult local ascents includes: Highway Robbery M10, Sugar High M10, Banana Split M8-, Dilly Bar M7+ , Employee of the Month M9, Flame Burger M10, No Bones About It M7+ Gear  and Where Posers Dare M7 Gear. Kutcher is currently working on a few other difficult projects he hopes to complete before the season ends.

Great work Nate! If you want a partner just as keen swing by the climbing department at MEC in Burlington. So stoked to see someone take the initiative.
