Feb 24, 2010 - Sport Climbing Closer to Becoming an Olympic Event

Last week during an all-party meeting in Vancouver, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ratified and recognised the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC). This is a critical step for any sport bidding to become an Olympic event. The President of the IFSC Marco Scolaris explains the significance of the IOC’s recognition in this interview.

    Really.  But isn’t watching climbing only slightly better then watching paint dry.

    As is Cricket, Golf, Rugby, Karate and even Power Boating which seems weird, and of course you have powefrul people in professional baseball lobbying to get that back on line as well.

    i don’t want it to become an olympic sport because, then we get a bunch of deuces who only climb to be in the olympics, and not for the joy of it…
