Feb 4, 2010 - Is Alex Honnold the Best All-Round Rockclimber?

While Alex Honnold is best known for his incredible high-end onsight trad climbs and solos, he’s also amassed an impressive sportclimbing ticklist with quick repeats of routes up to 5.14b. It seemed that all that he was missing were some bouldering accomplishments to solidify his status as a top all-rounder.  Seems that he might have been thinking the same thing as he’s recently spent some time bouldering in Bishop and quickly dispatched problems like Mandala V12 as well as four other V11s. Honnold’s accomplishments seem even more impressive as the climbing world moves towards greater specialization.
