It was confirmed earlier this week that one of Ontario’s oldest climbing crags, Kelso Conservation Area, will be closed this season. The park is restricting access to the cliff while it completes construction on a new chair lift. Many climbers were surprised by this closure as the cliff and main climbing area are not part of construction site. The closure, which is estimated to remain in place until November 2012, almost ensures that there will be no climbing at Kelso this year.

More details on the closure can be found at Ontario Climbing and the Ontario Access Coalition.
