The Alpine Club of Canada has launched an online campaign to have Canadian climber Sean McColl considered for the Lionel Conacher Award for male athlete of the year. McColl has had an incredibly successful year competing in the bouldering and lead climbing events with six World Cup podium finishes, a win of the overall title at the World Championships in Paris last month and a first place finish at the lead World Cup competition in Xining, China last week.

McColl is currently in third place in the overall World Cup standings and with two comps left in the season, he is a serious contender for winning the overall World Cup title.
