Crazed Chopper Destroys Popular Routes at Mount Nemo

Reports are coming in that a climber who recently moved to the area has made good on his threats to remove bolts from a number popular climbs at Mount Nemo in southern Ontario. So far the climber has chopped the protection and anchors on approximately half a dozen popular moderate climbs.

Local climbers are reeling from this disturbing situation.

Climbers in the area should be careful about getting on any climbs with fixed protection as the protection may no longer be there.

    Did this radical give a reason for the removal of the bolts? Rock preservation?
