The 2015 MEC Ice Festival

The MEC Ice Fest, in partnership with Banff Snow Days, was held over three days from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 2015 in the heart of Banff.

The 2015 MEC Ice Festival brought climbers and gear companies from around North America.

Highlights from the 2014 MEC Ice Fest:

The week before the event was unseasonably warm and on Sat. Jan. 31, the ice climbing wall melted. It didn’t stop people from talking the talk, trying gear, taking clinics and getting stoked for ice climbing.

Temperatures dipped to -20 C over night and on Sunday morning, there was ice to climb. Highlights were Margo Talbot’s ice clinic and the opportunity to test-run some new equipment.
