Climb and Conquer Introduces Youth to Outdoors

Climb and Conquer recently wrapped up their annual summer camp, where a group of youth, alongside volunteers went climbing and camping in Squamish for the weekend. For some of the youth, this was their first time sleeping in a tent, their first time going for a hike and first time they got to roast marshmallows. It was inspiring to watch the group embrace the new experiences and to see friendships and mentorships blossom over the course of the weekend. Jeff Yoo and the group put together a video from the weekend.

Climb and Conquer is a registered charity based out of Vancouver that supports youth up to 18 years old from at-risk or disadvantaged backgrounds through climbing and mentorship relationships. The main program is a “big brother/big sister” program. All volunteers have valid police background checks and we encourage mentorship pairs to meet on a regular basis. They host a variety of other group events such as socials, potlucks, and an annual summer camp for children. To find out more about the organization, visit here.
