IFSC 2016 World Cup: Canadians Advance to Semis in Vail

The IFSC Vail World Cup is taking place this weekend at the GoPro Mountain Games. A number of Canadians made the trip south for the big comp. A shout out to Elise and Eric Sethna, Sean McColl, Alannah Yip, Andre DeFelice, Stacey Weldon, Allison Vest, Pia Graham, Lia Wieckowski, Jason Holowach, Will Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Scott Williams and Martin Stranik for competing this weekend.

The Qualification problems were some of the hardest of the 2016 tour. Veteran comp climbers Weldon and McColl have advanced to Semis tomorrow. For the Females, Brit Shauna Coxsey qualified in first place with American Megan Mascarenas and Anna Stohr in second and third. For the Males, Korean Jongwon Chon finished first and was followed by Japanese senders Tomoa Narasaki and Kokoro Fujii. Gripped has a number of people covering the event from Vail and are streaming the event live on Snapchat (@grippedmagazine).
