Watch Highlights from Chongqing World Cup 2017

The 2017 IFSC World Cup tour made its way from Switzerland to China this past weekend. Chongqing was the first of three stops in Asia this season for IFSC climbers, watch highlights from the event below.

Next weekend, the IFSC will take place in Nanjing, China, where a number of Canadians will be competing. So far, the Canadian registered include Jake Tiger, Seb Lazure, Sean McColl, Jj Mah, Elan Jonas McRae and Canadian champ Alannah Yip.

Yip advanced to Finals in Chongqing in sixth and finished in sixth, thus becoming the first Canadian woman to advance to a World Cup Finals ever. For more on the Nanjing event visit here.

Today was a good day. I made my first IFSC World Cup final (and was the first ever Canadian woman to do so ??). I got to stand up on the big stage with these 5 amazing climbers, women I've looked up to for a long time for their incredible strength, composure, and grace. And of course I was able to top one of the problems and finished in 5th place. • Huge thanks to the entire Canadian contingent @boilerroomclimbing @mccollsean @seb @elan for all your support this weekend. I couldn't have done any of it without you. • And of course the support I felt from everyone back home was overwhelming. Thanks to every single one of you who sent me a message or cheered for me or supported me. I feel so loved ?
