Watch Setting and Projecting of Permanent Indoor Project

At Klattercentret climbing gym in Stockholm, Sweden, a team of setters is making a permanent line called The Project. The point is for it to be a potential project for everyone. It will have back-to-back problems starting with V3 and finishing with V15. The idea is that climbing is about progression and every five moves will be graded and added on to the previous.

“As the route is permanent it will now for the first time in climbing history be possible to have a world record that everyone can try to beat,” said a news release about the route. “For a record to count officially, the attempt must be filmed from start to finish.”

The route setters are Robert Rundin and Joakim Berglund. The first attemtps will be on Feb. 18 by Magnus Midtbø, Kajsa Rosén, Jakob Schubert and others. Alex Megos was meant to work on the route but injured a finger. Watch the first 10 episodes leading up to the first tries of The Project.
