In addition to the bouldering ban, the roped climbing at Halfway Dump is limited to toproping and only on the 6 routes on the wall above the Whale Boulder. There is beautiful climbing there, but only a days worth. The top of the cliff provides ample options for nuts and cams so you can avoid slinging those cedars!

I have phoned and e-mailed the park on a number of occasions hoping to speak to someone about the access situation, firstly to figure out what the rules were and secondly to try and convince them that banning toproping and allowing lead climbing might better mitigate damage to cliffside flora. They have never picked up the phone or returned any messages.

Hopefully this will change.

Hello jonwakani and others!

Updates to Halfway Dump and Campden will be posted on http://www.ontarioaccesscoalition.com as soon as they are available.

For now, access information for these areas remains unchanged : the landowners/managers do not want anyone bouldering at Halfway Dump and the landowers/managers do not want anyone bouldering OR roped climbing at Campden.

If you think you can help out the Coalition, please send an email to webmaster at ontarioaccesscoalition dot com with your ideas and input.  We are always looking for more keen folk to help things roll along.

Cheers,
Andrew
