for sport climbing there is Victoria area, Nanaimo, Limestone Horne lake, comox lake near Cumberland, and Crest creek in Strathcona park to name a few.  take a look at this site. http://islandclimbing.com/areas
This website is still getting built up.  Most of the sport climbing is half pitch stuff.  There are tough Alpine routes in strathcona park

By sport climbs I mean short routes( half to 2 pitches), and a close approach. We have various types of Basalt (i’m not geologist) so there are some short cracks.  but mostly bolts.  I really like the remote Alpine climbing.  definitely no line ups like the Bugs.  I’ll stay here. there is about a dozen great alpine peaks on the island.  Some of the more difficult ones may get only a few climbs in a year.  the Alpine is Bolt free.  there are some granite peaks.
