Dustin,
I feel that it would be inappropriate for an official to lend gear to a competitor, but I would happily sign you up in one of the seventy six spots remaining.  I’m guessing you’ll be in the Clean Rec category.  Remember there are no points for ground falls survived in the clean aid division…and your placements have to actually hold body weight.

Jody, I am really getting excited about this.  Just few more questions…

Will competitors receive topos of routes ahead of time?  I’m used to Supertopos so I’d be expecting something pretty detailed.

Is there going to be any mandatory free climbing on the routes?  Nothing ruins an A4 pitch more than a few moves of scary 5.5 face climbing, IMHO.

Also, I’m not too familiar with indoor aid climbing etiquette.  It seems like Coyote is a pretty aid-friendly gym.  Is it cool to train on the current boulder problems at the gym?  Obviously I’d be gentle with the hammer and pins, mainly looking to do a bit of hooking and high-stepping before the comp.

Thanks,

Mike

OK then, if you aren’t gonna have speed rappelling or Highball Falling contests, can I bring my Nomics and spurs and drytool? After all, mixed climbing is basically aid anyway.

God, I’ll be in Spain at this time… It sucks, I’ve been training hard all winter on the Nautilus Stairmaster Freeclimber 4600PT Exercise System (NSF4600PTES-clearly not as good of an acronym as yours Jody).

Yeah I know, it’s ironic, training on a freeclimber machine to do aid, but wait until you see how fast I can climb them steppers, you wont be laughing anymore and will be running to get yourself a Nautilus membership…

you know what, I’ll cancel my trip to Spain for that… If duct taping Sky Hooks to my hands is allowed.

Climbing may be hard, but it’s easier than growing up.

Thanks a lot Jody.  Now I have a difficult decision to make.  Should I head to Ottawa for the National Aid Climbing Championship or to Edmonton for Bouldering Nationals?

If you’re setting the aid climbing routes I’ll probably have to head to Ottawa Presentational Image) I expect the best from you.  Creative problems without having to do circus tricks.

Jody, can I borrow your sky hooks to compete? If so sign me up in one of those 8 slots left.

yo prez- watch out for the spanish women. i hear they are gorgeous and feisty. so you’re forewarned. if you ever get the sense that ‘this can’t be real’, don’t panic, imagine aid in the city and dirtbags like al and you’ll get your clarity back. we will do the suffering for you- this time!

when did dustin get manboobs? they grow up so fast.

it’s good to hear that you’re keeping your figure D. so far i have found 1 lone boulder and 1 cliff band. otherwise busy- yes. but… we have an installation artist living with us and she’s getting all conceptual on a freestanding backyard boulder, so that will fill in the gaps. the concepts are jutting prows and gentle convex and sublime landscapes. there will be a party to inaugurate it and to throw axes- sept 1. will talk before then.

OMG rock warriors with axes yes. espn will be there for sure.

I want make this clear to everyone. The man boobs (or D-cups as they were so named) no longer exist. I did have them that summer where i indulged too much and climbed to little but now they are no more. So everyone drop it. Also, Toivo have you been developing up there or have you been too busy.

Jody, will competitors be aiding routes at the same time? Is there physical contact allowed? I’m just wondering if I can rock warrior my fellow competitors off to make finals? Your thoughts?

Oh man!

Like any good aid climber, I went to Home Depot after reading the rules.  The number 4 drywall hanger fits in just right to a bolt hole on a roof (that’s a robertson screwdriver on harness, yeah baby!), and the number 11 hex will encourage those hooks between panels.

Prez, don’t loose the faith or your focus.  Nothing but trouble.  Take DPJ for example.  Would he be where he is without years self denial?

Hope this helps.
