I have noticed a lot of human waste (poo) at the base of a few of my favorite climbs over the past few years.  Not in the woods, and not in the normal log form.  These waste deposits (poo’s), are more pancake shapped then they are log shapped.  This got me thinking that there may be an increase in local Crag Sky Dumping.  Has anyone else found any large brown pancakes at one of there favorite climbing spots?  I find this behaviour alarming, however also quite daring.  Any thoughts?

When it was found out that there would be a Sky Dumping World Cup this year, we needed to determine which young Sky Dumpers would be able to represent Canada. We had a team picked from last year’s nationals and several of those SKy Dumpers had never had the opportunity to Sky Dump at a World Cup because of the high costs to Dump in Europe and a few choked because of the binding effects of rich european food. We wanted them to have this opportunity to Dump for Canada at least once.

Also, a determining factor was the closeness in time between the scheduled national Sky Dump In Edmonton (the shit that hit the fan there is still being cleared up) and the Sky Dump World Cup. To organize a team made of this year’s Dumpers within three weeks was not considered feasible at the time we were deciding this. With international registration and licensing to consider plus the development and production of official Toilet Paper, there was a lot of work to be done and that timeframe gave us a small opening to aim for.

This is the first time organizing the Sky Dump team so a learning curve has been used that will help us target our goals for next year.

Please feel free to nominate who you think should Dump for Canada here.

Tool tips #45623 Cover your leg loops in a plastic bags when going sky dumping.  This will protect your harness from stray spray and wild wipes.

Tool tips #937373 Be sure to Sky Dump only on calm days from the anchors of routes that traverse. This helps the rope and gear stay free of debris.

Tool tips #848585 By flipping right upside down in your harness with your back on the cliff and feet hanging down you can get a great view of the sports action.
