i have both seen and heard about this. i dislike it. we should fabricate a story about mount nemo having weapons of mass destruction, then we can invade it and take control of it’s parking lot.

So what’s the deal with the new day pass thing at Nemo? Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?

Thanks Adam. I was out there yesterday and was mostly just posting to complain. Oh well, I’m sure they have facilities to maintain, and I’ll probably wind up buying an annual pass. At least I’ll get my money’s worth: According to the HRCA website, there’s a really awesome Maple Syrup Time thing in Mountsberg that is included. I can’t get enough effing maple syrup.

Seriously, though. I think I remember seeing a sign at Nemo about how Bruce Trail members can use the trail for free. I may do that if it’s cheaper than the Halton annual pass.

I spoke with the people over at Halton Conservation and confirmed that the day pass (per carload), for all areas where there is a parking attendant, is .00.  The park fees sheet available via the conservation’s website is incorrect but should be updated shortly.

You used to be able to park there free with a Bruce Trail membership, which is …  Not sure if that has changed.

Is this only for Climbers or all users?

The fee is for any vehicle which is parking in the lots.

I miss the good ol’ days of free parking at nemo.  Anyone been dumb enough to freeze their yinyangs off there this year?  I guess we have had one or two nice days…

Well, there is still no parking attendant after work (or at least there wasn’t when we were out there). However, I have seen people getting ticketed for not having tags in their windows on days when there is no attendant on duty, so I think they still come by and check from time to time.

That said, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the sign in the Nemo lot said that you had to display EITHER a Nemo day pass (or presumably a Halton year pass) or a Bruce Trails membership in your windshield when parked in their lot, which makes it sound like a Bruce Trails membership ( instead of 5 for Halton) would allow you to park at Nemo in lieu of their /day fee.

Is the fee in effect on weekday evenings as well?  During the week (at least up until last year) there is no parking attendant and payment is on the honour system?

seems a little steep for a 3hr session after work!
