Post Canadian National Team To Vail - and a look at the new uniforms!
on: June 3, 2008, 12:47

On behalf of the CEC and TDB, I would like to wish all of the competitors making the trip to Vail, Colorado the best of luck at the competition. For most, this will be there very first international competition - an exciting time, to be sure.

Also, each competitor will be wearing the new national team uniforms, designed by Beta Clothing Designs Inc., at this event so tons of red and white will be seen at the competition.

Here are the competitors that will be attending:

Women:

Vikki Weldon - Alberta
Erin Ford-Zieleniewski - Ontario
Thirza Carpenter - Alberta
Sheena Osborne - British Columbia
Holly Reid - Nova Scotia
Bonnie de Bruijn - Ontario
Nicola Hessels British Columbia
Clarrie Lam - British Columbia
Kerry Briggs - Ontario
Sarah Austin - British Columbia

Men:

Sean McColl - British Columbia
Terry Paholek - Alberta
Noah Zielinski - Ontario
Marshal German - Alberta
John Bowles - New Brunswick
Simon Parton - British Columbia
Dan Archambault - Alberta
Dustin Curtis - Ontario
Jonathan Audy - Quebec
David Voltan - Ontario
Jamie Chong - British Columbia

The event will be held on June 6 & 7 - check out the following link for more details to the climbing competition and all of the other events: http://www.tevamountaingames.com/default.cfm

Good luck, everyone!

Hey Pete!

No photos yet - but there should be some after this weekend. I have some mock-ups that, if I were any good with computers, I could add to this post… but, I am not that good.

Anyone who can do that, I will email you the mock-ups - just leavve your email address here.

Yeah, I know - I need to get into the 90s regarding computers…

No, clearly modeled on the Canadian superhero Guardian (of Alpha Flight), not Captain Canuck…  I wish I had a Guardian Suit for October.  They have everything but the mask.  Shucks.

Of course, I suspect Sean will actually do a reasonably good superhero impersonation in Vail.  And he doesn’t even use a secret identity.  Brave.

Good luck in Vail, everyone!

Aren’t those directly modelled on Captain Canuck’s uniform from the 50s comic book?

We were thinking of modelling them after those new swimsuits you get in a tube they are using for the Olympics, the really plasticy ones, but this is the first run.
