Hey There,

Has anyone heard of any climbing in the Prairies?  I just read something in Gripped and wondered if there was any more than the two boulders Scott Milton talked about.

thanks!

Finding climbing in Sask is possible, I think.  Once you get up onto the shield, there’s lots of granite - but it’s all been ground down by glacial action.  However, I have seen pictures of northern sask with small - but certainly climbable - granite cliffs.  Talk to people who canoe in the lake country on the shield.  Good luck!

I guess it depends on where you live.  If you live near s’toon then its closer to drive west then North in search of climbing that may not even be there.  If you live in Regina there are some erratics south by estavan but they are all protected and fenced off.  From Regina your best off to drive south to SD or WY for climbing as its closer then even Canmore.  Good luck in your search.
