Hey, I just wanted to give props to everyone who helped put together thee best high school comp EVER! The finals were off the hook and it was comparable to a miniature Mammut competition! All the overhead lights in the gym were turned off and in their place a army of spotlights shining beautifully on the walls to illuminate the six final boulder problems (Route climbing qualies with boulder finals, it was a good idea for the high school comp and it worked like a charm). Anyhow, the last two climbers were the only ones to finish the third finals problem. It lead to quite the show with the last guy finishing the last problem with less then one minute to go with all eyes on him. The crowd went wild the DJ spun some tunes and everyone was psyched to get back on the walls and go climbing. Who new a high school competition could be so fun? The crew at of Rock and Chalk did an amazing job and I’m sure they got a lot of kids hooked on climbing from that one experience.
