On Saturday April 18 2009, the Calgary Climbing Centre will be hosting the Tour de Bloc Western Regionals.

This bouldering competition is for climbers of all levels and is well supported by MEC, Gripped, Friction, Metolius, Blurr, Evolv, Beta Clothing Designs, Delire Climbing Holds, Jeremy Nathan photography and Ambler Mountain Wear.

These sponsors have given us lots of gear, clothes, shoes and even a couple of crashpads.  All prizes to be given away via draws.  Category winners will receive medals.

Categories for male/female will include beginner(5.10and under) Experienced (5.11), Open ( 5.12 and up) and complete Youth categories.

Everybody gets to have a blast and try our 45+ brand new problems and than, after a quick break and fun comp results, we get to watch the top 8 men and top 8 women compete in a wicked onsight final.

The Calgary Climbing Centre is donating a 00 cash purse to the open category.  The money will be divided between all finalists….even 8th place gets !!

Cost is +gst.  Please register early, it helps us organize a better competition. Day-of registrations will not be guaranteed….first come first served.

Spectator fee is .  Competitors can watch the Finals for free.

7:15-9:15pm    Finals

9:15pm  Open Awards and Prizes.

Just a quick note to say that for the Tour de Bloc Western Regionals, 

you have to call the gym (403-252-6778 ) to register.  We don’t have online registration at this time.

Qualifiers for Open and all the other categories are a scramble format redpoint comp.

Only finals for the Open category will be isolation format.

This competition is open to everyone.  You do not have to be a member of the CEC to compete.
