go to rockclimbing.com, goto the trad climbing forum,a nd do a thread search.  this topic come sup about 2000 times per year. Nothing like a cam question to get an engineer fired up ;-)

A set of hexes, a set of stoppers, maybe a pink tri-cam, and an armload of slings, quickdraws and carabiners and you should be ready to climb. You’ll learn a lot about placing and using gear that you won’t so readily learn from plunking in SLCDs. Some aid climbing is also a good way to learn about how to use gear.

Unless, of course, you carry your courage in your rucksack…

The cam angle on Wild Country Friends has always been 13.75 degrees. It shouldn’t be much different for other brands - the materials and physics are much the same.

Thank you Anders,

I know they are all about the same arc.  I looked at that last night and it could not be 32 degrees.

Thank you for pointing that out. (chemo head, sorry)
