Go to dorky climbing parties or plan to then you must know this hitch if you plan to get laid.

When ever I go to a party, I never plan on getting laid. Guess that is my problem (one of…).

My next one liner was going to be: “When it comes to making love, I’m more of a MAC then a PC”, but now it’s going to be “Hey wann’a get hot and do the Kliemheist with me?”.

I’ll probably get shot down for being pedantic - but I would take issue with a couple of the facts presented on the video. It may be differences in terminology between our two continents and if so sorry…

Least important..the Kliemheist should be Klemheist.

More important the Klemheist and French prusiks are different and - importantly - behave differently. I think this error may have originally come from the generally excellent Chockstone site. Chockstone does mention how they are different, but does not go into how this affects their behavior - the video mentions neither.

The most definitive research into friction knots has been done by SRTs and cavers and the rough, very condensed conclusions are that Klemheist is the knot for use when constructing a friction knot using tapes, but the French prusik is better in the majority of situations when using cord/rope - less risk of slippage, more consistent release characteristics and works with a greater range of cord / rope diameters (less risk of user error/not locking/not releasing in any particular set up).

It may seem like a small point, but stuck on a rope unable to move up/down is a pain.

I would agree the climb-heist is the best when using tape/shoulder slings. Works amazing. Although your slings won’t be load rated after a modest amount (ascending).
