I have to mark the PPE of my club for tracability purpose.
( PPE = ropes, quickdraws, carabiners, etc… )

Each PPE must have around 4-5 digits to identify them individually.
Do not ask me why, that’s the Law in Europe…

Does anyone have some actual feedback on how to do this ?

Is using a Dremel engraver on metal parts a good idea ?
tape+heat-shrinkable tubing for ropes ? does it lasts ? ( I’ve heard it does not )
