Hey Ontario Climbers,

I just moved to Ontario and am super eager to finally sample some local limestone for instance at Lions Head after having heard nothing but great things about that crag. But somehow it seems impossible to get a hold of any of the guidebooks of the area (such as the two relevant Bracken & Oates masterpieces: A Climber’s Guide to Ontario Limestone, and The Escarpment - A Climber’s Guide). Does anyone have suggestions how to score some topos of the area (Lions Head, TV tower, and the other gems nearby) to help me sort out approaches and grades?
Very much appreciate your help.

Cheers,

P.

The two guidebooks are both out-of-print and very difficult to find.  There is a new modern guidebook in the works, but in the meantime the best location for information on Escarpment climbing is http://www.ontarioclimbing.com
