Adam Ondra Adds Routes to Now-Famous Flatanger

Adam Ondra has been busy winning comps and sending hard new routes in Norway.

Flatanger is a big cave in Norway that Ondra helped put on the map. The crag has a number of 5.15 routes and now four more 5.14s.

Ondra sent the new Witchhammer 5.14d which combines Nordic Flower 5.14c and Thor’s Hammer 5.15a, “Flatanger at its best,” wrote Ondra on 8a.nu.

He also sent Brunhilde Low Start 5.14d, of which he wrote on 8a.nu, “A new line to the left of Thor’s Hammer bolted by Elliot Ashe. Has a jumar start [many routes on Flatanger start after jumaring to the upper cave] and it is probably at hard 5.14, but with the start from the ground through the crux of Thors Hammer, it is a good 5.14d for sure.

“Unfortunately fell from my onsight from the jumar start, then refreshed the moves in Thor’s Hammer and then sent it in the sun.”

The champion of the recent Rock Masters duel also visited the crag called Hell in Norway and sent the area’s final project at 5.14b.

Ondra has established a number of the area’s most difficult routes, including Change 5.15c, Move 5.15b, Illusionist 5.14d, and Dharma 5.14b.
