Cians Brinker and Brandon Pullan have just bagged the third ascent of the West Face of Mount Robertson 5.11 R 650 m. The pair found no fixed gear on the route and managed to climb the line in an 18-hour car-to-car push. The route involves classic Rockies loose rock which peppered the team even at the sheltered belays.

“It was the loosest route either of us had climbed and we broke many holds off the 5.11 pitches. The 5.10 squeeze chimney is wild with 180-feet of deep squeeze and if the last pitch was any looser, it wouldn’t be there,” says Pullan.

The West Face of Mount Robertson was originally climbed by in 1988 by Andy Genereaux and Jeff Marshall and repeated in the 90s by Raphael Slawinski and Eamonn Walsh.
