Based in Canmore, Wexler lives the life of a mountain guide and goes to where the work is. In summer, that’s in Chamonix, France, and in winter it’s in the Bugaboos in B.C.

When not guiding clients to summits and on icefields, he spends his time paragliding off iconic mountains. On this episode of Basecamp, Gripped editor Brandon Pullan touches base with Wexler about climbing, travel and more.

On Valentines Day in 2014, Wexler took off from Mount Lady MacDonald near Canmore with a lightweight paraglide set-up. What happened next changed his life. He crashed into the mountain. A rescue ensued. A recovery took place. Listen to stories from the air and mountains from one of Canada’s leading all-round mountain athletes.
