Julia Bobak and Marcel Aarden Send Hard Routes at Horne Lake

Julia Bobak and Marcel Aarden had big days at Horne Lake on Thanksgiving weekend. Bobak sent the steep Moment of Silence for her second 5.13c. Her first 5.13c was Dancing in the Dark about a month ago. After her send of Silence, she wrote on Sendage.com, “This took me longer than it should have. Probably because I am uncomfortable with roof climbing. And toe hooks. And burly boulders on a rope. More solid at the grade than Dancing in the Dark I think.”

Marcel Aarden sent his first 5.14 on the same day with a tick of the classic Dinosaur Highway. Aarden recently sent Fat Cat 5.13c and Chertless 5.13c at Horne. Aarden wrote on Sendage.com after his send, “First 5.14! Really glad I was able to finish off this rig before the season ended. Amazing line to say the least.” Rock season is winding down, but it seems there are still some great sending temps out there.
