July 6, 2009 – John Bachar (1957 – 2009)

John Bachar was found dead at the base of Dike Wall in Mammoth California.  Authorities presume Bachar fell while soloing. Bachar was one of America’s top climbers whose uncompromising ground-up ascents and legendary solos redefined bold traditional climbing. Bachar leaves behind his son Tyrus. More details here.
