Katie Bono Sends Lightning, Sets New Standard

Katie Bono has climbed a number of hard mixed routes throughout North America.

With her send of The Lightning M13, she becomes the first American woman to climb the grade. Canadian Sarah Hueniken became the first North American woman to climb M13 two years ago.

The route is one of many famous hard mixed lines at East Vail, Colorado. Watch Bono and Hueniken make the first all-female ascent of Nophobia M10, here.
