Kelly Drager Sends Tell Tale Heart After Solid Sessions

Kelly Drager is a strong Calgary climber who works as a sports dietician for Canadian Sport Institute Calgary. Over the past few weeks, she has been working on the full Tell Tale Heart 5.13a at Ravens Crag and sent it at the start of September. The 30-metre climb is one of the best at the grade in the Rockies. You can climb it as one 16-bolt pump-fest with a number of stout cruxes or just climb to the first set of anchors at 5.11d. It was first climbed by Peter Arbic in the early 1990s. Drager had been working on the test-piece line during weather breaks in August.

Read Macadam was a familiar face at Ravens Crag this summer, mostly a result of being one of Alex Megos’ main Rockies partners. Macadam belayed Megos for his 5.15b send at the crag and was also on to give supportive chants to Drager. Macadam’s #TodayIsTheBestDayOfMyLife comments caught on and were used for the remainder of August by many climbers, including Megos, Sonnie Trotter and Ken Etzel. The following are two posts by Macadam, the first about Dragger’s project and the second after the send. Nothing like an end-of-season-send with snow on the peaks.
