New 5.12 and 5.9 at New Brunswick’s Utopia Crag

This summer, we reported about new routes at Utopia Crag in New Bruswick. The new-routing has continued into the fall, as reported on social media by Peter Adamson. Jon Adamson made the first ascent of another steep route up the Utopia overhang called Way of the Road 5.12a. A few weeks ago, Jon spent many hours cleaning and climbing the new Sculpture 5.9, of which Peter and Jon’s father made the second ascent.

With routes ranging from 5.6 to hard 5.13, Utopia Crag has become a go-to for those on the road in Canada looking for new routes to climb. For an online guide to Utopia with updated routes to 2015 visit here.
