New Hard Sport Route in Rockies’ Heart Creek

Marcus Norman has climbed a new 5.13a on Heart Creek’s Upper Amphitheatre. The wall has some of the best rock along the historic Heart Creek climbing area and Norman has established a handful of the cliff’s hard routes. His new 5.13 is called Lord of the Rungs and climbs above the established route Slackline King 5.10d.

He bolted the route last fall and sent it this spring. On Sendage.com, he said, “Similar to its neighbours Matron Saint and Arrival of the Fittest, but with a fairly tough crux followed by a balancy slab. Needs some more traffic to land on a final grade, but it seems harder than other 13as I’ve tried this year.” For an updated topo visit here.
