For the past decade, Squamish has been the scene of hard free sends, often up old aid routes. But there is a new group of climbers dedicated to the art of hooking, nailing and enjoying the view.
A few of those committed to the art, Jon Rigg, Chris Trull and Danny Guestrin just spent a few days opening new ground on The Chief.
Their new route is called Pantera and goes at V 5.10 A3+ over 12 pitches. It combines pitches on Green Thumb, Specter, Ghostdancing, Bald Egos and finishes up Pandemonium.
They added steep aid sections to access the Pan Wall and overall the climb has some good exposure and nice looking features. Stay tuned for more aid news from Canada’s West. For more on Pantera, visit Squamish Rock Climbing here.
