Kris Irwin and Jay Mills have climbed a new one-pitch mixed route above Emerald Lake in the Rockies.

Irwin, owner of Rockies Ice and Alpine Specialists, and Mills, owner of Canadian Rockies Alpine Guides, teamed up for the first ascent of this moderate, fun looking mixed route they called Warm Wet Comfort M5+, 55 metres.

More on Mills

Irwin said this about Warm Wet Comfort, “Climbed a new one-pitch mixed route today 40 metres left of Cold Choice. Bring a rack to number four, a set of nuts, two 10-cm screws,12 draws(some extendable), and a 70-metre rope. Decent gear placements, no bolts. Belay off tree at the top and walk off left. It’s south facing so hit it early before it starts to fall apart on these sunny days. Good ledge at 30 metres so you could break it up into two pitches.”
