New Six-Pitch Route in Squamish

There is a new six-pitch route at the popular Shannon Falls area in Squamish.

Jean-Marc Savoie, Ryan Larkin and Paul Greenwood have climbed a new six-pitch 5.11a at Shannon Falls called Charlotte’s Ride to the Sky.

The route adds five pitches to the existing classic Cardhu Crack 5.8, which was first climbed in February 1977 by Glenn Payan.

Savoie wrote on the Squamish climbing forum that the idea for a potential multi-pitch above Cardhu came about during a conversation that took place at Climb On.

In total, a number of people helped out over five days of cleaning and sorting out where the line would go. For a topo and more on the route, visit here.
