Nico Favresse Sends 5.14d Before Patagonia Trip

Nico Favresse is one of the world’s leading all-round climbers. When he’s not freeing new lines up big walls, he is projecting difficult single-pitch routes. In preparation for his upcoming trip to Patagonia, he has been going hard on the sport routes. He posted on Facebook that he began the year with a send of Du neuf avec du vieux 5.14d in France.

Happy Newyear everybody! I wish you all many dreams to realise, exciting ideas to give shape and many of those moments where you get into the flow of practising whatever activity you love! I started the New Year in Siurana with an amazing Belgian crew and returned home for some preparation of my next trip… A place I'm dreaming off for years now! A place where the wind is strong but the rock is solid… This picture by @talomartin is from 'Barbossa Crack' in La Pedriza, the place I've spend almost three weeks to understand the dance of the granite! I hope Pedri's granite prepared me enough (climbingwise) for the mighty towers of Torres Del Paine! @thenorthface @petzl_official @fiveten_official @avventuraoutdoor @ignaciomulero @talomartin #lapedriza #slabclimbing #torresdelpaine #patagonia

Favresse, Sean Villanueva and Siebe Vanhee are heading to Torres del Paine to attempt to free the east face of the Central Tower. The Torres del Paine are busy this year with a number of strong climbers attempting to free old routes. The team will be bringing their musical instruments to create another fun short film. Watch Power of Jam below, which features Favresse and Villanueva climbing in Canada in 2008.
