The Next Issue

The next issue strikes a balance between stories about ice climbing and profiles about rock destinations. The photos are some of the best Gripped has published

I just received the proof of the December issue of Gripped and I am stoked. The balance between Canadian stories and content from around the world is spot-on. The photos are some of the best I have seen. There are ice climbing pieces for ice climbers, but there are some great rock climbing pieces for those who like to get away in the winter months. There are pieces written by some of the worlds greatest climbers who have decades of writing experience and there are pieces written by new climbers who have never written. Gripped, to me, is a grass-roots book that brings together amateur and professional writers for the purpose of celebrating Canadian and International climbing and our next issue does just that.

When I started as Editor for Gripped, I knew there was a world of potential for Canada’s climbing magazine. Now, as I flip through the digital pages of the last issue of the year, which will be available in less than a month, that potential is coming to light. I hope everyone in Canada is proud of it and looking forward to the future as much as I am.
