Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker Send Millennium Arch 5.14

British crack crusher Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker made the first free ascent of The Millennium Arch. The 100-metre roof crack goes at 5.14 and they climbed it in one pitch. The two climbers are in the Canyonlands, Utah, projecting the Crucifix project and got side-tracked after discovering the Millennium Arch. They found the Crucifix project in the spring after exploring the White Rim area for weeks in search of a mega project. They found it on their last day, after rappelling into a cave.

They sent the Millennium Arch in three pitches and then left the gear in place and climbed it in one 100-metre pitch. They had to tie into a second rope half-way to complete the route. Each ascent took over two hours.
