Tour de Bloc Results from Toronto and Canmore

The second round of Tour de Bloc for the 2015/16 season took place in Canmore and Toronto this weekend.

Things kicked off in Toronto at Joe Rockhead’s with a big turnout for registration. After an exciting day of competition, Fred Charon came out on top and finished in first place for the men. In second and third was Nate Lo and Matthew Moreau.

For the women, Elise Sethna, who has won a number or Tour de Blocs in the past, won the day. Close behind was Beth Vince in second and Cloe Legault in third. Check out some great photos from Toronto by Aidas Odonelis:

Some 3,500 kilometres away, at Elevation Place in Canmore, Elise’s brother Eric was busy winning the other Tour de Bloc event of the day. With freezing temperatures in the Rockies and as the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival was going on down the road, the comp saw some of Alberta’s best climbers go head to head.

In second for the men was Marc Eveleigh and in third was Wolfgang Kendler. Marc’s brother Scott finished in a close fourth. For the women, Alyssa Weber finished the day on top of the podium with Stacey Weldon not far behind in second. Taking home third was Eva Thompson.

“What an unforgettable feeling to win in front of my super psyched home crowd at Elevation Place,” said Eric Sethna after the competition.

To help pre-run the problems at Elevation Place was Alex Honnold who spent the week in the Bow Valley for the film festival. Check out photos by Pam Eveleigh from Canmore by the Association of Alberta climbing and visit their Facebook page for more:
