Watch a Film on Crusher Caroline Ciavaldini

After winning World Cups, Caroline Ciavaldini decided to leave the sport and head to the mountains. She set herself the ambitious project of free climbing the Voie Petit, a 450-metre granite route graded 5.13 on the Grand Capucin on Mont Blanc du Tacul, Chamonix.

Established by Arnaud Petit in 1997, and first free-climbed by Alex Huber in 2005, the route is protected by a mixture of trad gear, bolts and pitons. Ciavaldini ventured up to the big free route in the summer of 2016.
