Watch Adam Ondra Whip off Neanderthal 5.15b

Neanderthal is one of only a few routes that climbs the entire Sanya Linya cave in Spain.

It was first sent in 2009 at 5.15b by Chris Sharma. Despite a serious effort by Magnus Midtbø in 2013, it is still without a second ascent. Watch Midtbø on Neanderthal below.

It is described as a 5.14d to a shallow two-finger pocket and a dyno to hard boulder problems with no rests. Sharma worked on the route for two years on and off and sent the 40-metre route after falling from the last move a few days earlier.

Watch Adam Ondra as he makes his way toward the finish this week and then takes a big whipper. The route is wet in places and the conditions were said to be sub-prime for sending.
