Watch Interview with Champion and Coach Christian Core

Christian Core is one of the world’s strongest climbers and last year he moved from Italy to Canada.

Core is known for many ascents, including his first ascent of Gioia V16 in Varazze, Italy in 2008. Two years before that, he made the first ascent of the Italian problem Kimera V15. In 1999 and 2002, he took first place at the Boulder World Cup and went on to win the World Championship the following year.

He currently lives in Squamish and coaches at The Hive in Vancouver. Gripped caught up with Core in Toronto during the Youth Bouldering Nationals.
