World Cup Korea Results

The first event of the Asian IFSC World Cup went down in Mokpo, Korea on the weekend. It is the first of three events in Asia and eight for the IFSC World Cup tour.

Slovenian Mina Markovic took top-spot for the second year in a row, bringing her world cup gold medal count to 15. In second for the women was Belgium climbers, 18-year-old Anak Verhoeven and in third place was Helene Janicot from France.

Women top three: In men’s, Jakob Schubert took his fifth world cup podium of the year and was the only one to complete the final problem. Ondra place ninth and Canada’s Sean McColl placed fifth. In second was Slovenian Domen Skofic and in third was France’s Romain Desgranges.  

Men's top threeSecond among men went to Domen Skofic of Slovenia, who had ended up in fourth at the 2014 World Championships. Romain Desgranges, 32, of France finished third, just his second World Cup medal within the last year.

Canadian Elan Jonas McRae finished 14th.

The next stop on the tour is in Wujang, China this upcoming weekend.
