Watch Ice Climbing in Norway’s Popular Rjukan

Rjukan is an ice climbing destination in Norway that is popular with climbers and has a story all of its own. Built on water, the town has capitalized on its natural environment and played a special role in the Second World War.

The guidebook to Rjukan lists nearly 200 ice climbs which is why the area is so popular. Most of the waterfalls are reached via short and uncomplicated approaches.

Rjukan offers lots of variation with waterfalls from one to 17 pitches in length, and difficulties ranging from WI2 to M10.
