Adam Ondra Sends New 5.15b in France

Adam Ondra recently climbed his 13th 5.15b and it was a new route at Mollans near St. Leger, France.

Ondra said the crag is the future of climbing for difficult routes, second only to Flatanger in Norway. His new 5.15b is called C.R.S.

“What a moment! Extremely satisfying ascent, nice to feel the progression on the real rock,” 8a.nu reported Ondra saying.

The route was bolted by strong climber Seb Bouin and is the ultimate power endurance testpiece, according to Ondra.

“It combines desperately physical overhang with extremely thin holds on the very top. Last try, last day, three days in total and one try two years ago.” Ondra said it was the fastest he has sent a 5.15b

After Ondra, Chris Sharma has the most sends of 5.15b with eight and seven other climbers have sent one, according to 8a.nu.

St. Leger has over 400 routes on 10 walls and route development is ramping up. For more on the area, visit here.
