(Re) Climbing the Classics

Mammut unites two generations of passionate climbers for the project Reclimbing the Classics. Young and old gather to climb six rock classics – milestones in history. The people who climbed the six routes for the first time join younger athletes for a journey which bridges the generation gap.

Episode 1: Hyaena 5.14a

The Italian climbing area Finale Ligure offers perfect conditions for climbers. Andrea Gallo’s 5.14 classic Hyaena was repeated by Jakob Schubert last December.

Episode 2: Action Directe 5.14d

Wolfgang Güllich was the first climber who climbed Action Directe in the Franconian woods in 1991. A burly route which redefined what was possible. Watch Jan Hojer climb the world’s first 5.14d.

Four more episodes to come!
