Babsi Zangerl Sends Everything is Karate 5.14c/d

Babsi Zangerl is in California and has sent Everything is Karate 5.14c/d, a route bolted by Pat O’Donnell in 2012 and sent by Ethan Pringle in 2016. It’s been repeated a number of times, including by Chris Sharma in 2017.

The route climbs a steep wall of bullet granite following a seam. Zangerl sent her first 5.14d in spring of 2018 with a climb of Speed Intégrale in Voralpsee, Switzerland. She was in Canada last year and repeated The Path 5.14R at Back of the Lake.

Babsi is one of only four climbers to have completed the Alpine Trilogy in Europe, which is to redpoint the three 5.14a Alps “sport” routes: Des Kaisers neue Kleider, Silbergeier, and End of Silence. In 2017, she and Jacopo Larcher made the first ascent of Gondo Crack 5.14bR trad in Switzerland. She’s also sent three of El Capitan’s most difficult free routes: El Niño VI 5.13c A0, Zodiac VI 5.13d and Magic Mushroom VI 5.14a.

We had such a good time here in Bishop. „Everything Karate“ (5.14c/d) and this huge move on the very top was such a challenge to me. So happy I finally caught that one!! Staying here in this peaceful, wild canyon felt like being right where we wanted to be. Please help the @bishopclimbers and keep this place wild and clean! #liveclimbrepeat #teamsend •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Thanks so much to @benjaminbditto for joining us at the crag and capturing the moment!! Thanks to @ethan_pringle for the inspiration!!! And to @patrick_b_odonnell for bolting this proud line! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• @blackdiamond @lasportivagram @vibram @verivalbio @powerbar_europe @frictionlabs @fazabrushes @climbskinspain
