The 2018 Ouray Ice Festival this January

For three days and three nights Ouray is an absolute ice climbing centre. With ice climbers, both novice and pro travel from around the world to celebrate the growing sport of ice climbing.

Sub-freezing nights continue here in Ouray, and every morning the gorge reveals new crop growth. During daily vendor exhibitions Festival attendees have the opportunity to demo the latest ice tools, apparel, and gear from the Outdoor industries leading retailers.

Hundreds of spectators line the top of the Gorge on Saturday and Sunday to watch the world’s best ice and mixed climbing talent battle for the prize.

And, with over 100 interactive and educational climbing clinics to accommodate every skill level, Festival participants are sure to have an experience to remember.

The Ouray Ice Park will be hosting two climbing competitions at the 23rd annual Ice Festival.

The Elite Mixed Climbing Competition will be held Saturday, Jan. 20. And, the Hari Berger Speed Climbing Competition, hosted by Lowa Boots, will be held Sunday, Jan. 21.

The Ouray Ice Park is pleased to announce that the application period for the 2018 Ouray Ice Festival mixed and speed climbing competitions is now open! The 23rd annual Ouray Ice Festival is scheduled for January 18-21, 2018. The Elite Mixed Climbing Comp will be held on Saturday, January 20th and the Hari Berger Speed Climbing Comp sponsored by Lowa Boots will be held on Sunday, January 21st. The awards ceremony for both competitions will immediately follow the conclusion of the Speed Comp on Sunday, January 21st. Cash prizes up to $2,500.
