Bryce Brown Finalist for Banff Mountain Photo Essay

Bryce Brown has been a contributor to Gripped for the past few years. One of his big pieces in the magazine featured photos from his trip to Mount Logan in the spring of 2015. Accompanied by two experienced climbers, they attempted to traverse Canada’s highest mountain, but were caught in a storm after reaching the summit. See photos and read about their trip here. A selection of Brown’s photos have made it to the finals for the Banff Mountain Photo Essay Competition. You can visit here to vote.

Brown, who is featured in our summer issue of Gripped, has travelled around the world in search of high alpine adventures. In 2006, he climbed Mount Everest with Jimmy Chin, Rob DesLauriers, Dave Hahn and Kit DesLauriers. Kit, Rob and Jimmy then skied the peak. Brown had worked at Everest as a physician in the past, but it was the first time he climbed the peak. Brown has climbed hard routes in Alaska and other great ranges and has made the first ascents of difficult ice routes in Canada. Be sure to follow him on Instagram here and Facebook here.
